@lauren The OBVIOUS reason for it is that Musk wants SpaceX to IPO this year, and needs a strong growth narrative to hook investors—Falcon 9/Starlink is already baked in, so why would anyone throw more money at SpaceX *now*?
It's clearly bullshit, but the investors he's after are spectacularly gullible and tech-illiterate.
@ralfmaximus @lauren The bubble's going to burst long before anything more than at most a single prototype orbital DC ever gets built, much less launched. The point is to IPO SpaceX with a high valuation on the back of the AI bubble before it all turns to shit.
