Following its mention by @pluralistic, I’ve begun reading Madoff’s new book, The Second Estate. Early on, she observes the environment in which we’re living today “bears [a] remarkable resemblance to the tax system of prerevolutionary France.”
The book analyzes how in the last forty years #uspolitics has created a tax code that insured the rise of a new aristocracy. The only difference to 17th and 18th century France is the lack of royal titles.
What are we going to do about it?
First, it dates to the 1970s, when the Koch brothers wrote their manifesto and began working to implement it.
Second, if the citizens can hold it, the Republic has the tools to restore itself. I would organize locally, unionize/federate with others, and seek guidance from lawyers. Win the fall election. decapitate both parties (not their members,) and impeach members of SCoTUS who have violated their oath.

Third, modernize all three branches.
1. SCoTUS should have ~32 justices to manage the caseload.
2. Constitutional Convention: it needs to be easier to update like more modern Constitutions, and untouchable by politicians.
3. Modernize elections - no electors, proportional representation, mandatory voting. States, not Fed, conduct elections.
4. Enforce the law of the land: ratified treaties, legislation, and the Constitution.
