@rmondello Just had to do 2FA to sign in to unsubscribe from some marketing emails.
Apparently the services that do this on your behalf (including Apple I imagine) are too effective.
So at least with a captcha, they can tell you aren’t a bot, the address IS hot, and your email address can be resold.
I’ve never thought unsubscribing to unsolicited commercial email worked other than to replace the hydras head with 2 new different ones.
I don’t see how those selling an unsubscribe service squelch the tide more. Black list the spamming email on your local filters?

If only they had some way to send a message to verify your identity.
I wonder, is the unsubscribe button in Apple Mail an opt-in standard? Or is it screen-scraped by Apple - so there's a potential arms-race here?
