Anyone have a #newsreader recommendation? Must have good iOS apps and not be Feedly or Inoreader.

They’re both great apps but they’re chasing business customers with collaboration tools. I’m just one person who wants to organize my news feeds.

A read later feature that accepts external links would be welcome but not necessary. I don’t have a great read later solution right now.

@chartier Reeder. New or old, whichever one matches your "inbox" style

@chartier The best combo I could come up with is:

@NetNewsWire (which I used for… 20 years?) using iCloud sync, for the feeds I almost always entirely read.

Then everything else that is interesting, but that I don’t want to be a completionist about, I throw in Tapestry by @Iconfactory for an awesome Twitter-style feed of interesting stuff for when I want to be entertained.

Some feeds I put on both, but it doesn’t matter since in Tapestry I never try to read everything, I scroll through.

@chartier I’ve been using ReadKit since last summer and really like it. Previously used Reeder (Classic) for 10+ years.

@chartier @fahrni Reeder 5 Classic works, and can use iCloud for sync. Plus many other services for RSS sync. Including Feedly as a basic feed manager. Just like the old days!

@chartier @NetNewsWire is my go-to. I sync it with iCloud and it works on macOS and iOS.

@chartier David, I am the creator of Stream (https://stream.hayseed.co) but I’m going to recommend Unread from @johnbrayton. The iOS app is beautiful, functional, and solid. His Mac app, in my opinion, is even better. It’s exceptional work. You can subscribe to feeds and save read later links right in the browser via the share sheet (or whatever it’s called now.) OH! And John has built his own service for syncing so you’re not dependent on iCloud.

@chartier I like Reeder.app (version 5, a.k.a. "Classic", not the yellow "Reeder." version) with Feedbin as the back end.
