@grammargirl's interview with Doug Harper of etymonline.com is well worth a listen;

They talk briefly about the origins of the site. Where Harper mentions how much easier it was to establish a website as a landmark when the web was new, and how crowded the landscape has become since.

@grammargirl Rather than linking to the YouTub version I would have preferred to link directly to the podcast episode on your site. But despite spending quite a while digging around I couldn't find it there;

FYI the RSS feed for your podcast can be modified so that when I go to 'visit website' in my podcatcher, it takes me to the page for the episode I'm listening to. Or if there aren't individual episode pages, to the URL above.

@strypey Our website has a lot of problem, so I usually try not to send people there, but that page has a direct link to the RSS feed as well as links to Apple and Spotify. There's also a podcast player with the most recent episodes. (I know that's not great for permalinking.)

When I post an episode here, I almost always post the Podlink link: https://pod.link/173429229

What sort of problems?

Good to know.
