@AnarchoNinaWrites I'm constantly thinking about magic but mostly from the perspective of a rationalist who is worried about how autonomously complex bad ideas are capable of becoming. I also have some sort of schizophrenia-spectrum disorder and this complicates things further in unpleasant ways. f I'm trying to sell anything, it's a commitment to fighting a new front in the war on bad and predatory epistemics. If that front doesn't exist, or no longer, or can be prevented from existing, those are welcome revelations. I also don't have most of the normal anxieties people have about it, with respect to purity, or literally existing versions of mythical figures, or subversion of authority. There is a big ignored space at a critical time in history which all the worst people are engaged with and none of the best people are engaged with. It's going to concern me. The reasonable nature of the disengagement doesn't mollify me because it's only reasonable under non-adversarial thinking
