I've been looking at various codes of conducts and their procedures.

It's interesting comparing the python foundation and various python events to Mozilla's diversity and inclusion procedures.

Whereas Python's procedures are incredibly through including guidance for reporting and how staff takes reports, I get the sense that Mozilla's were a little abandoned.

@sphakos work for Python is amazing. Thank you Sage for your hard work.

@onepict Thank you for appreciating my hard work! I find that having well-thought out CoC procedures helps during times of stress, just like having an emergency plan in case of a fire.

@sphakos @onepict Yep. I used the PSF procedures effectively carbon copy for some of my events and it's really good to have a briefed stuff.

Even things like just clarifying the chain and who can make decisions of that kind/needs to be involved is so helpful.

@onepict @sphakos can you say more about events? I can't speak to Mozillas anymore but curious as I am updating for another organization.

@sphakos @sunnydeveloper I took a look at Mozilla's inclusion GitHub repository for it's participation guidelines. It's more generalised, possibly because Mozilla has a lot of events and it varies who's meant to be responsible for safety. But it's based on the Python Codes of Conduct with Python USs code of conduct along with reporting and how to take the report guidelines.

The python one is easy to find and through.

@onepict @sphakos I'll check out Python. I put a lot of resources in tbat inclusion repo, but yeah - just tools. Mozilla does have a how to report page, which also had a how-to-take a report, and we also used to have a course, but not sure what's still around to your point Sage's work is always primary inspiration.

@sphakos @sunnydeveloper I do like the work that has been done on inclusion by Mozilla. But I love the way that Python US put very complete documentation and procedures up in their repositories.

I'm currently working on my own projects COC and the start of governance. The history included with Mozilla's repo, has been great for checking out the history of what work other projects have done.

In this political climate I worry about Mozilla's Inclusion repo staying up.

Thank you @sunnydeveloper for your work on this as well.

I was originally pointed at Mozilla's repository on this by another project that had used parts of it in their coc.

@onepict some of the most meant work I ever did, and glad it's helped! The latest updates to Contributor Covenant are also interesting- the background work to update etc.
I know some will want to erase, and delete such work but persevere we will!
