My trip started off with getting to spend most of the first day hanging out with @hongminhee and @2chanhaeng, and discussing how our various cultures differed and aligned. How our social upbringings brought us to where we are. And how the politics of inclusively and multiculturalism are at the center of many of the technologies we care about. Then randomly seeing this fediverse/peertube news on live French tv while eating shawarma at an Iranian shop really jumpstarted the experiance.

While at the bar I got to meet @django for the first time, whom I had interacted with for a long time in fedi context. We first interaracted years ago when they were looking for a name for their new fediverse post embedding @WordPress plugin and I had the suggestion of the name #FediEmbedi which ended up being used: https://mediaformat.org/fediembedi
Now they are working on pushing forward the ActivityPub C2S and we got to chat about that a bit.

While talking about what it is like to visit Korea with @reiver and @hongminhee, my friend @douginamug showed up and filled out the spectrum of different social bubbles I am engaged in. Doug I mostly know from organizing #Solpunk together over the years
While we were sitting there I noticed an @inventaire sticker on the table and @maxlath saw me pick it up and and introduced themselves. I had thought I saw something about #Inventaire stopping to use AP and said something of the sort and they were like "noooo I actively working on improving it!"
I had been told that there were gonna be some people at the bar working on fediverse "event federation" but hadn't found them yet and was complaining to @douginamug who then told me they knew what one of them looked like and jumped into action to search the bar for the famous @mayel whom I had never met afk

@liaizon ooh, that was a misunderstanding: I thought what you said was about Inventaire itself stopping, sorry! 😂
About AP in Inventaire, the current implementation is limited to broadcasting activity to the world. From that issue https://codeberg.org/inventaire/inventaire/issues/638 it seems that "the world" is actually a bit limited, we will need to look into that.
We have ideas of AP-powered cross-instance book exchanges, but that's not for this year I'm afraid. And that wouldn't be enough to fully call Inventaire federated, until we figure-out how to do federated inventories.
