@rysiek I'm yet again standing by my belief that encouraging to switch from Firefox to a fork over Mozilla's decisions is – for the most part – completely pointless. And can be even harmful to the cause as a whole when it comes to privacy-oriented forks such as librewolf
Changes in the fork are typically marginal and contain themselves to what could be achieved by a mere user.js configuration
At the same time the maintainers of the fork just due to the sheer scale of the project they forked from are unable to entirely split from it and develop their own thing.
So it's still 99.99% Firefox, with some changed configuration (often in a way that can break standard web browsing experience for an average user) and delay in introduction of safety patches and other features (most of which is desired and not actually AI bullshit)
I honestly share the sentiment of "fuck mozilla" but Firefox forks just aren't the solution many think they are
I'll stick with vanilla Firefox and I'll remain sceptical of encouragement to switch to any fork – unless I change my mind for whatever reason
@rail it's not a general solution to the problem of browsers being shit – for that we would need a truly independent browser like Verso (which sadly seems unmaintained at this point).
This is a solution to my frustration with having to constantly fiddle with settings to turn off AI bullshit being crammed down my throat by Mozilla.
Wyłączyłem Enable ResistFingerprinting i działa....
@ThePolishDispatch @librewolf @rysiek Zwykły użytkownik wkurwiłby się, jakby ktoś mu podmienił przeglądarkę na Tor Browser. A właśnie to (do pewnego stopnia) robi Librewolf.
@mkljczk @ThePolishDispatch @librewolf @rysiek I spent all 2025 using only LibreWolf, but there are many problems with codecs, sometimes I was not able to see anything in work video calls, screenshare never worked at all, despite that I granted all possible system permissions, so I ended migrating to Vivaldi in 2026
@ujeenator thankfully it's super easy for me to go back to Firefox if I need to. I hope I won't though.
