@randahl but revenue stayed more or less the same. That means people were still giving Tesla the same amount of money as in 2024, but Tesla had more expenses..

@randahl Am I the one who doesn't understand economics, or has the market gone crazy? These three sentences all come from the same article:

👉 Revenue fell 3 percent year-on-year to $24.9bn in the final quarter of 2025.
👉 Net profit fell 61 percent to $840m in the quarter, taking profit for the year to $3.8bn, down sharply from $7.1bn in 2024.
👉 Tesla shares rose about 2.2 percent in after-hours trading.

@randahl

So now #FuckElon is diverting his attention from consumer goods like cars to the products like starlink and spacex he can sell to governments. They do not abject his fascist ideas.

@WvOostveen that is the strategy, yes.

Elon could have admitted it was a mistake to support Trump, but of course that would involve admitting it was a mistake to support Trump, and of course The Dark Maga Overlord does not admit mistakes.

@randahl Tesla’s stock price is the death certificate of capitalism. The public mistakes it for a sign of life.

If capitalism worked even remotely as advertised, Tesla’s stock price would have plummeted long ago.

It is just theater, and badly written at that. 😏

@randahl Weird that Tesla is stopping making its model S and X. A car company giving up on making cars. It's planning to make robots which will be too expensive and useless. This is terrible leadership. Making the Cybertruck instead of a smaller, cheaper model was mad. It's handed the future to China and Europe for smaller electric cars. The new, small models from Renault and Citroen look great. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2026/jan/28/tesla-q4-earnings-estimates-elon-musk

@randahl and yet #Tesla granted him another 880 billion(!) USD, instead of just firing him! 🤦‍♂️
