So here’s a question, is it normal for a fingertip to simultaneously feel numb and be screaming in pain?

@Unixbigot oh wait, it is indeed a finger that I sliced badly enough to end up in hospital for being glued back together, and it does have a numb spot near that scar

@jpm no, it only happens when you do things like hit it with a hammer. Put some ice on it.
@jpm I’ve had pins and needles that were very painful but wouldn’t really call that “feeling numb” so I think you’re on your own
@jpm pro dad tip I just remembered: turn your fingers around so that the fingernails point down, it hurts less if you hit your finger pads.
