@Lily_and_frog I believe it was on an episode of the show Christopher Lydon does, but I could be wrong.
If he's not racist, he's just a contrarian asshole.
It's clear from emails Chomsky spent a lot of time discussing "race science" with Epstein. It continued long, long after Epstein's conviction--one of his last-holdout pals. Whom he invited to his house for lunch.
Also Chomsky sent a terrible email about how destructive the Me Too movement was to men, and "hysterical accusations"/"hysteria about abuse of women". ALSO he defended confederate statues during BLM. AND, also, he was a denialist about genocide in Cambodia.

This thread motivated me to search for his comments about MeToo. No e-mails came up but this interview did:
> I think it grows out of a real and serious and deep problem of social pathology. It has exposed it and brought it to attention, brought to public attention many explicit and particular cases and so on. But I think there is a danger....

Another time I'd like to learn of his comments about confederate statues too...

Here is the email from Chomsky to Epstein, which was forwarded to Hiltzik.
Note that it's FAR past the 2008 date of Epstein's conviction.
