TIL that Giuseppe Marco Fieschi attempted to assassinate King Louis Philippe I of France on July 28, 1835 by constructing a "Machine Infernale" which consisted of 25 gun barrels mounted on a wooden frame, designed to fire all at once. Guess what, the King Survived.
