Can we just tell all of the "Signal is an op" guys that all of the real high-opsec organizing is being done on some Telegram channel so they can all go there and cosplay at each other?

@evacide the issue i see from many (like me) people in security outside of US is not an issue on the security of Signal.
But more a lack of resilliency if your Orange Nazi oder to shut it down.
Since it run 100% on Us hyperscaler (amazon, microsoft, google) 3 have shown they will comply to the Orange Nazi.
So if he say kill it Signal is cooked.
And signal lied on the fact it was "impossible" to make otherwise.
So we move out ASAP, because we don't trust you (US) anymore.

I said "resillience" so a system that work like a potato if hyperscaler are shut down do the work.
What i see, if tomorrow trump order hyperscaler to shut down signal.
100% of signal is down.
If they have other outside, it will be bad, but still work.
They chosen to allow a full shutdown, and we don't trust them anymore, so we move out.
if you cannot understand this we have a bigger problem at hand to fix

@evacide telegram is still backed by venture capitalists seeking a return on their cash. It may not be in the same part of the product lifecycle as say WhatsApp or Facebook but it’s on the same trajectory; with the same underlying commercial incentives that cause our data to be sold to billionaires for political influence.
I use signal because it’s an Open Source NotFor Profit, not because I think it’s got a great UI or features or whatever.
Not having any pressure from the board to make money out of my data? Open inspectable encryption algorithms? best features I will ever need!

@evacide An activist group I pay attention to uses Signal for everyday chatting, but Telegram for sharing larger files. I'm hoping to convince them to use my self-hosted Nexcloud instance for file storage/sharing.
