It's rather unclear, even from the linked Apple post, how this works. It sounds as if it requires carrier opt-in, which doesn't sound particularly robust.

I mean, sounds cool I guess, but I don't trust the the company whose CEO is getting a little too chummy with the Trump admin, to effectively protect me in any meaningful way, from the Trump admin.
