Hmm, for the designer, I won't tell, but for the devs, ouch...
No doctype, 3,63Mo for 2 paragraphs, a basic form, an svg logo and a background image, that's embarrassing.
And this background image : a magnificent 898 Ko "svg" full of base64 inlined pngs... and overlayed by a subtl "noise" png of 2,40 Mo by itself, chef's kiss :)
@_elena horrendous logo, dark mode only (too bad if you have astigmatism or other visual impairments). I’m annoyed already 😅
@_elena And yet... people like @euobserver 's publisher know that W exists. He thinks it's lame, but he's HEARD about it and now so have his readers. What he apparently hasn't heard of despite EU Observer having a Mastodon account is Mastodon.

But I think the other one is better ignored, unless one can point out to useful parties that it should be ignored in favor of Mastodon.

@sylbou I had a BIG Eureka moment this morning about this. Why is the Fediverse being passed by in favor of Bluesky / AT Proto?
Because in my humble opinion, AT Proto by design is largely driven by algorithms. And who controls means of communication has immense power these days (look at what happened to X, TikTok et al).
In contrast, no corporate or governmental overlord could sweep in and assert control of the Fediverse.
That's why.

@_elena I just looked at the source and found references to webflow: overriding webflow css and js.

So I think it's pretty safe to say those 2 pages at the very least started as webflow pages and were then customised.
Not sure that's quote-worthy, but sure :)

1) There also seems to be a Laravel-based backend that receives the form submissions, visible in the custom js file.
2) Uses Amazon cloudfront for at least some resources, meaning at present AWS can track wsocial page loads.
