@danirabbit @vkc I used to love social media... since IRC in 1997, and I was part of each one of them (fotolog, myspace, icq, tumblr, etc). I had faith, you know? But since a copule of years I'm out of IG and Facebook (i don't have Tik tok). I like youtube and nowadays since 2022 mastodon. It feels quiet and calmer and of course it is advertising-free (yet). For me that helps a lot. I hope you can find humanity here tho
@danirabbit It's slowly becoming harder to have your own agenda since you have to constantly react. You are living in an attention economy, but some people have gotten so good at capturing your attention that there is no room for YOUR agenda as you're only being able to react to THEIRS. Don't forget that this is an intentional tactic that was suitably named "flooding the zone".
How do you counter-play this?
