#Pittsburgh needs 123 snow plows for "full and adequate" response, according to our controller. We have 95, of which 50 are currently down, so only 45 of the necessary 123 exist and are operating. Meanwhile they say they have "dozens" of contractors out, like that makes up for this staggering incompetence.

@freakazoid Im convinced this city's owes existence to the fact that the civil "servants" are too lazy to set it on fire themselves. I don't understand how the long timers accept this type of governance.

Dear incompetent politicians and bureaucrats: it snows here. Buy enough snowplows, and then maintain them. This ain't fuckin' rocket science.

And it's impacting other city services as well: because they couldn't plow fast enough, they won't be collecting garbage either. And they only collect recycling every 2 weeks, but they're not doing extra recycling pickup, so by the time our recycling is picked up again it'll have been 4 weeks. And they don't pick up recycling in bags, which means a bunch of recyclables will end up in the trash.

Oh, and a bunch of buses got stuck yesterday, so it impacted bus service as well.

No records were set; this was a once in a decade event, not once in a century. And events like this will most likely be more frequent moving forward. We know that, so "this was unusual" can't be an excuse.

The city should be taxing the shit out of those 2 million dollar condos downtown that are being used as AirBnBs for sportsball fans.
