I am buying my first LoRa device.

Following the insightful buying guide by LocalMesh Netherlands, I am thinking I will go for LYLYGO T-Echo Plus. I would like to buy it from the official website, where it costs ~54€.

What do you think?

@tommi find a review of the T-echo by a human who has used it. The one I read said it was ok but a bit clunky. I do like the idea of a standalone companion/client device.

@ozeng mmmh what does “clunky” mean? Do you have a link for that review, or was it an in-person chat?

@tommi sorry it was the T-deck.. got my devices confused. Don’t have the link but they didn’t like how the keyboard worked or something like that. Not relevant to the one you’re considering

@tommi
Sounds like a sensible choice and a fair price.

@tommi Great choice. I don't know how well the antenna is made, but often they're very low quality. So you might want to invest in a proper one.

Thank you, @altim! Do you have any links or more specific tips for that?

@tommi @altim I recently bought a SenseCAP Solar Node P1-Pro to be setup as a repeater (in my garden). This is still in shipping.

I bought a SenseCAP Card Tracker T1000-E earlier on, which functions as a client, and it's pretty ok.

@douginamug What do you mean? I plan to be using it to communicate with other people’s devices.
