@mekkaokereke I'm old enough to remember the infamous LAPD Chief Daryl Gates being asked why Black people seemed to die so often in police chokeholds and him responding, "Maybe their veins don't respond like normal people." 😱
Cops in LA would joke and threaten to murder young Black people in the exact manner as George Floyd was killed. No one believed Black people about this.
The "star" witness in the OJ case was a cop that bragged about him and his friends murdering 12 people this way, until civil rights organizations banned them from using the chokehold so they couldn't pretend that it was an accident anymore.
"When I came on the job all my training officers were big guys and knowledgeable, some [n-word]'d get in their face, they just spin 'em around, choke 'em out until they dropped."
"No, we have to eliminate a choke hold because a bunch of [n-words] down in the south end of L.A. said this is bad."

@mekkaokereke honestly, thank you. People keep celebrating the response to ICE going after white people and my questions are:
When will the US actually finish Reconstruction?
What will any Democratic majority in Congress do differently from the last time?
Because unless those have good answers, the US is still in a downward spiral
@vaurora @mekkaokereke My opinion: you can’t have a democracy with only two parties because you can’t hold either party accountable. And once you’re down to two parties it’s nearly impossible to crawl back out of that situation because electoral reform benefits neither party.
