I'm a little late to the party with this but just had a terrific time perusing the hashtag. If I might be so bold (and apologies if you've already done), I'm quite fond of cheery Swiss painter Arnold Böcklin. Particularly 'Self-Portrait with Death Playing the Fiddle', or perhaps 'Plague'? Or...perhaps marginally less insane, something by Gustav Klimt?

@TheBreadmonkey Dammit, I think both of them are going to have to go on the list. The Plague is barmy, and will officially be in the "challenging" category but too good not to try (I'm thinking Friend flying on Myfanwy and there are a LOT of questions there).
I don't know how he'd passed me by - do love finding a new artist (particularly one where you can get high res versions to play with)
