Michael Parenti, the renowned Marxist scholar, historian, and political scientist, passed today at age 92. With unmatched clarity, he made Marxism accessible and delivered an unflinching, impassioned critique of capitalism and imperialism. His lectures were not merely heard, they were felt, and they moved a generation. Rest in power, comrade. You will be deeply missed.
He went peacefully this morning, surrounded by his family.

@ferret we need a new generation of Marxists to step up and continue the effort of educating people, we need more people like Vijay Prashad around.
I think, as Michael would have said (in fact I'm certain I remember him saying/writing it), the struggle will continue, because there is nothing else that we can do.
