@DavidBHimself I was educated in Scotland in the 70s & 80s to barely degree level. What I often find myself wondering about when I read or see people who seem surprisingly lacking in any general knowledge is: where and when did I learn those things that I feel they should know but don’t? I’ve come to the conclusion that a lot of the time it wasn’t in education but rather by reading for pleasure and from curiosity.
The video and very short form text that is ubiquitous now seems problematic to me.
