I did something today. A small step forward and long overdue. I switched to metric today. Changing everything to metric units was easier than changing all the freaking clocks forwards or backwards one hour twice a year. Why was this easier? Because unlike changing the "Daylight Savings Time" TWO hours off, one degree Celsius is a more reasonable unit for creature comfort than tapping two or three times for each Fahrenheit all the time.
And millimeters, the calibration is very accurate and don't have to juggle fractions of various units and wing it when machining or 3D printing parts. Why are USA tolerances so bad? That's exactly why.
But the roads are legally miles per hour, so I'm stuck with that until the revolution is complete.
I made a funny post about the metric system that apparently became very popular. It was funny but also very sad, because it's true.
