Just think about how radical the fediverse is: a place for real human connections and communities where no single individual or business is in charge.

No crypto companies pouring in money and hoping for a big payoff some day.

We make the fediverse together. And for that I am grateful to each one of you. Thank you for sticking around!

A screenshot of a world map with icons of various fediverse platforms overlaying it in places where each fediverse server is located. Highest concentration is in Europe, along the coasts of North America, and the east coast of Australia and Asia. There are also a few in South America, and a small number around the south of Africa and the Middle East.

@stefan

@stefan Ah yeah, there I am. I should still look into fixing the Lemmy instance.

@stefan@stefanbohacek.online tbh it’s very weird that you can’t find instances in most of African countries, even huge ones like Nigeria. I wonder if some instances aren’t correctly assigned to their geographical location

@fdrc_ff Yes, this map, I believe, looks at the physical locations of the servers, but some of them might use Cloudflare and similar services, masking it.

I think https://fedidb.com/welcome doesn't work that way, but here you can also only find a few servers.
