However the diplomats and financiers and even the middle powers make their deals, the truth of the situation is that our planet is not tradable. Our survival depends on us all coming to understand that the solution to capitalism’s multiple critical failures is not more capitalism.

There is no good colonialism. Listen to the voices saying this clearly.

The problem is that that our planet has always been tradable and always been ruled over by Plutocrats and Oligarchs ... even the kings, queens and religionists did as the money grubbers advised.

And still do because none can see past the dollar sign ...

So the only way to stop capitalism is to stop buying their products ... but the world's economy is run on consumerism ... so not much hope ...

@MyView The challenge of sustaining hope in relation to capitalism is formidable but I think we do it best with each other. Incremental and even inconsistent refusal is better than no protest at all.

Recognising our own entanglements with all this deal-making at this moment, wherever we are, is very often about tech: who owns the systems we use, what do our devices and networks have to do with the things being haggled over that are buried in the earth?

It’s slow, it feels overwhelming, but let’s support each other to think.

As I see it ... it will take a worldwide calamity to make the " I'm comfortable so I don't indulge in politics" lot to be jolted out of their slumber ... and join those who care ...

And that could very well be a repeat of the 20th Century ...

What the religionists call the "Revelations" even ...
What I call Mother Nature showing how pissed off she is over what we've done to her home ...

As they say ... hell hath no fury like a woman scorned ...
