In today’s tragic episode of 'authors do not control anything and price matching is our enemy'

My daughter noticed that Drystone – A Life Rebuilt eBook is now £1.99 on Apple Books too.

It’s a strange thing, baring your soul and earning about 20p for it.The economics of memoir are not particularly humane.

@kristiedegaris I ordered mine in November from Amazon.ca for $30-something CAD, I got it last week. Hopefully you got more that time.

PS. I have been reading (out loud) to my spouse, we are enjoying it slowly

@kristiedegaris I got a physical copy from a physical bookshop. Not sure how much that gives you, hopefully more than 20p.

@apronfullofstones Yes, more, the most I can possibly get. So thank you for the money but also thank you for reading my book!

@kristiedegaris I bought a book recently directly from the author (ess). What would be the best way for you for us to buy your book? (including postage to continental Europe)

@MarkDW Good question! I know several people have ordered in Europe, so it is possible. I've def seen it on some big book websites in other countries but not sure if it's the case where you are. A local bookshop *may* be able to get it in for you so worth asking. And online in UK, I think Waterstones ship to Europe too.

@greem Thank you so much!

You know, it's not even about the money (although it is too) I think often that I'd genuinley rather give people my book for free than this situation. I resent how publishing and corporations treat authors. And everyone.

@kristiedegaris The line must go up. That's all that matters to Them, and screw the makers/artists/writers/customers/consumers.

Capitalism needs to die.
