"We, the undersigned, express our grave concern regarding the actions and public positions of U.S. envoy Tom Barrack, which undermine ceasefire commitments in Syria and endanger civilian lives in northeastern #Syria (#Rojava).
As a result of weakened ceasefire enforcement and the failure to protect civilians, security conditions in the region have sharply deteriorated. This has created space for ISIS cells to reorganize and carry out attacks, leading to the killing of Kurdish civilians and renewed instability in areas that were once secured.
At the same time, 3ISIS family camps and detention facilities now increasingly influenced by the Syrian regime have become sources of serious concern. ISIS members have been released from prisons under Syria’s new government, and ISIS women and children from Al-Hol and Al-Shaddadi camps have been freed with the support of Ahmed al-Julani, a designated terrorist figure now presented as the president of Syria. These releases allow ISIS affiliates to return to violence, target Kurdish communities, and threaten Kurdish lands.
