Tech savvy fedi folks! I am looking for a solution to segregate work and private apps on a Pixel Android phone. The aim is to control when I receive work notifications or Teams calls from specific apps. There seems to be an option for an Android Work Profile, but that requires my IT department to set it up? Are there any solutions you have implemented that work for you? #android #pixel

@dedalusroot Apps like Shelter or Insular can setup a Work Profile if your OS does not have such a setting.

@dedalusroot I use Do Not Disturb Modes for that that shift of automated schedule: Teams can only send me notifications on week days between 9 and 18 for example.
Works for me because work apps and private apps are distinct.

@tante Huh, yeah, that would work, since it's mostly Outlook and Teams causing the problem... Is that a native Android feature? I thought I had researched that and that the Android Modes only allowed to block all notifications?

@dedalusroot I think that should be native. I do have a nothing Phone and the UI has a few additions but I think I had it setup similar on an older pixel I used to use.

@tante Thanks, will check it out. Looks like I can whitelist Apps that can interrupt the Focus/Do Not Disturb Mode, but that would work as well.

@dedalusroot but it does not allow settings like "everything _but_ these few apps can send notifications" to it takes some setting up.
