"David Seymour, deputy prime minister and leader of coalition partner ACT, expressed concern on Tuesday intensification would upset people in his electorate of Epsom, the country's wealthiest, because high-rise buildings might end up 'looking into everyone's backyards and their swing sets and their pools'."

This tells you everything you need to know about Rimmer's priorities.

@strypey To be fair, representing his electorate is part of his job.

Sure, but it's his choice of examples I'm highlighting here;

"looking into everyone's backyards and their swing sets and their pools."

@strypey Why should West Auckland have to bear the brunt of intensification. Thousands live on my block now. Three four storey apartments alone in the next street. Three large town house developments plus another apartment building and a mews development. All this on one block. They all drive home through my little street at night. They use another set of lights in the mornings. Let the leafy suburbs shoulder some of the housing needs. Why should it just be us?
