@dansup Incredibly hard for a new social medium to overcome the network effect and removing anonymity probably doesn't help, but if they manage to somehow get traction among leaders, governments and other public figures, it could serve as a sort of lower bar opinion page of a traditional newspaper. Where everyone can participate, but not anonymously. I could see this have a certain appeal to serious politicians and journalists. Rage merchants not so much. Not really a Mastodon competitor.

It seems the concept is fully verified identities.... No Pseudonymity
That probably isn't compatible with the fediverse and is a significantly different value proposition.
I doubt it will succeed among the general public but it might become popular with journalists, corporate and govt accounts.

@dansup I first thought that was satire. I do not think we need a platform 'W'. I mean, we already have a platform 'M' that is part of the 'F'.
@dansup W is short for "What the fuck" and the fact that W is right next to X in the alphabet, underlines the similarity between the two platforms. Meanwhile, the first of the Vs that make up W stands for “Vapid,” and the second for “Vain”
