The #Aurora forecast for last night was good enough that I took a punt on going out to photograph it.

I live in south east Queensland, which is around the 28潞 latitude and thus far too close to the tropics to usually get aurora, but the 1.5 hr drive to a darkish area west of Brisbane proved worth it.

As aurora photos go, these are fairly tame, but for the location, I'm extremely happy with having got this much.

Pinks on the horizon, very feint blue sprites in the middle right of the frame (really feint). Some cloud reflecting light pollution.

A bit more pink on the horizon. A wider panorama. Still a fair bit of scattered cloud.

Single frame. The whole sky in this shot has colour, from reddy pink down low to purples higher up. The blue sprites, while not distinct show as a bluer patch mid-right.

Similar to the previous shot, nice colours to the sky (reds to purple).
