@yogthos This is nuts. In a way it is christmas everything with the orange degenerate because everyone is starting to see the US as the main threat for the world peace including in the West.
I have a lot of thoughts & questions about that article and big ones:
1. This article being locked to subscribers guarantees that alarmists and reactionaries are going to take this headline and run with it uncritically
2. Who profits from this catastrophism is an interesting question to ask
3. I find it extremely hard to believe that the Canadian military is being frank about this topic ("why now?" also?)
@gersande paywalls are pretty standard nowadays, and they're trivial to get around, spinning that into some sort of a conspiracy theory is frankly weird.
And given what the US has done in Venezuela, the current situation with Greenland, and the open statements regarding making Canada the 51st state, seems to me that it's not exactly a scenario out of the realm of possibility.
