In 1916, #Denmark handed over control of what are now the US Virgin Islands to Washington in exchange for an assurance that the US respects Danish sovereignty on #Greenland. Interestingly, this Treaty of the Danish West Indies links what would become “Epstein Island” to Trump’s current attempt to distract from the #Epstein files through Greenland sabre-rattling.
