Crazy idea for a browser extension: Every mention of a street name is detected and linked to that place in your map tool of choice. "street name x street name" gets detected and is linked to that intersection.

Would be gold for politicians and other people working on urbanization and regulations. And just engaged citizens reading news articles with no freaking map for some effing reason!

@pilum Yeah, that's kinda the crazy thing about the idea, I think… 😊 You'd have to have some sort of database of all street names, I guess…? You could extract that from OSM. And to minimize the db, you could select which countries' street names you want it to detect?

@forteller And how would it know if it's e.g. Christian Michelsens Gate in Oslo or Christian Michelsens Gate in Bergen? 🙈

Or maybe an even more common street name? 😁
