#SURF will be handing out a new laptop model for employees. So I was asked if I could check if #Linux would run on it. I first checked if it was an Ubuntu Certified laptop. That was the case. Then I installed #Ubuntu on it and everything worked OOTB. Which is really cool because now the service desk will be handing out laptops that are checked beforehand if they run Linux which will save employees the frustration of having to figure out themselves how to get it running properly.

@wlaatje @Radboud_uni Thanks! And regarding Fairphone, we discussed that today too actually. There is a pilot running at SURF regarding the Fairphone 6. We also talked about the interview Tessa Wernink gave for De Volkskrant back in 2024.
