They also shared some more insights: their infrastructure now handles around 1.5 billion API calls per month 🤯 On top of that, they are planning new APIs for PDF content and vector search, affiliation matching curation and better author name disambiguation (https://blog.openalex.org/openalex-2026-roadmap/).

With the new features, it looks like they are starting to reap the benefits of their backend migration.
