Margy Pepper “Golden Webs” (2012)

The other day I started listening to the bands I put on when I was booking shows in New Orleans under the name #NoMoreFiction between 2009 and about 2014.

Margy Pepper was one of my favorites. They were from Olympia, Washington and sound like they’re influenced by early Sleater-Kinney but definitely have their own style. It was two women playing guitar, one playing drums and they all three sang together sometimes in unison and sometimes in raw, cathartic harmonies.

My hand holding a an off white record jacket with a black screen printed cobweb in the center colored in lightly with yellow. At the bottom it says the band name and record title in all-caps handwriting. The album spins on the turntable in the background.
