The Tech companies are putting the time in to convince the UK Govt. that their interests are paramount.... their access to the top levels of Govt. is extensive & dwarfs the ability of child safety campaigners or copyright holders' representatives to get time with Govt. ministers to point out the self-interest of the Tech Bros.
Its regulatory capture but on a state scale rather than a sectoral one.
