What’s frustrating you, writing-wise?
Cataracts. Eye 1 was operated on, but has a retinal occlusion. Eye 2 … they're waiting for the cataract to ripen, but that's the one I rely on for reading/writing. So screen work is currently extra-fatiguing! And I have two books to finish editing/rewriting ASAP!!
@cstross That bites. I remember waiting for my cataract surgery and just itching to get it over with so I could order new glasses. I should have let them do both eyes when they wanted to so they could have bumped up my eyesight more, but it's too late now, I don't have it in me to ask for more voluntary surgery.
@cstross I thought that it was no longer necessary to wait for a cataract to "ripen" with modern surgical methods and that it should be treated as soon as possible.
@mocm There's also a waiting list here (eye hospital had an emergency shutdown for six months last year) and I'm loath to pay out-of-pocket for surgery the NHS will give me for free later this year (I'm on the waiting list).
@cstross Then good luck that you will be able to see everything clearer again soon.
