New relationship in 5 areas.

-clean energy/climate competitiveness
-agriculture /food
-commiment to multilateralism
-public safety
-people to people ties.

China produces bulk of world's batteries for cars, solar panels and other renewable hardware. Canada needs access to their supply chain.

49,000 affordable Chinese electric vehicles to be allowed into Canada at roughly 6% tariff. Expected to result in China eventually investing in Canada to grow the market.

In justifyng allowing affordable Chinese electric cars into Canada:

49,000 cars is less than 3% of the market, and there are no Canadian made electric cars inder $35,000 so the Chinese cars are not stealing any market.

On allowing electric vehicles:

Canada needs to rebuild its auto industry to endup building affordbale electric cars. This small opening is hoped to lead to China startingt to build cars in Canada.

(the "rebuild car industry" is important as it points to Canada expecting to lose exports to USA).
