@rbreich It's hard to agree with this position, because it relies on the idea that not escalating things on one side would lead to the other side also not escalating things, and that seems overly optimistic *at best*.

Imagine German democrats in 1933 trying to avoid aggravating Hitler's Nazis and hoping that doing so would stop them from pursuing their polices and destroying the world as it was.
It sounds laughable, doesn't it? Yet that's exactly what some of the best in the American left are trying to do. Having abandoned Marxism as a TOOL to analyze the world, they now find themselves unable to offer any hope for actually resisting, and not even a word for organizing against the #fascist regime.
