I don’t believe they are building it for activist reasons.

@aral Mozilla already abandonned Servo and the project have been handed over to the Linux Foundation.
I know KaiOS (the remains of Boot2Gecko) but I don't get your point yet, what could be pulled ? (and would it mean to pull KaiOS ? You mean how Mozilla did stop its involvement from the Firefox OS ?)
@siltaer Due to the license, anyone with millions of dollars can take it and make a browser. Google, your next AI startup, etc. And they don’t have to share the improvements their millions of dollars make. KaiOS is proprietary Firefox OS which Mozilla happily helped them make in exchange for $$$. We could have had free and open feature phones but no… They don’t give a shit about protecting the freedom of the code, etc. It’s a business thing.
