This feels very much like colonialism; take over all the #OSS code, drive the original developers away, and give the colonizers the code as a welcome present.

@yoasif I don't respect anything Simon Willison has to say about programming. I really wish people would stop citing him for…well, anything really.

@yoasif wow, just naked allegiance to capital and the "OSS devoured FOSS" status quo on display there! don't worry buddy, your team already won this one!
gentrification is the metaphor that came to my mind, one population with particular values being very directly displaced by another with distinctly different values (+ class/economic status maybe). glad that at least he's finally mask off; i was sick of seeing so many people treat him as the reasonable moderate adult in the room.
