Some people in the #Python community seem to have some people upset at the PSF taking money from Anthropic. This baffles me a great deal because one of the biggest issues facing the OSS community in general is that big companies make their money from the hard work of the volunteers who build the OSS. This is a company - yes, a somewhat distasteful one but, IMO, no worse than Amazon, Google, or Meta - giving back to the community. This is what we are asking for.

I will also add that the PSF has measures in place to protect itself from corporate interference. There are limits in place on how many employees of any single company can be on the board (2, if I'm not mistaken) to limit the influence of a company on the board's decisions. The PSF has shown the backbone to put principles over money and I have no doubt they will again.

This is the same organization that had the sponsors talk and then, immediately after, invited @pluralistic to excoriate them.
Have some faith in the leadership and the mechanisms that have been put in place to keep Python independent from corporate influence.
