Today, Windows Server 2008 and 2008 R2 (based on Windows Vista and 7) finally, truly reach end of support.

Windows Vista and Server 2008 is the longest supported version of Windows, at 19 years. Behind it is Windows 馃槣 at 17 years, and Windows for Workgroups 3.11 at 16 years.

There is some real irony to Microsoft giving the longest servicing life to Vista/Server 2008, the operating system that has the most issues with servicing. We鈥檝e spent the most time working around issues that only exist in Vista/2008鈥檚 rewritten update system. Basically all issues were solved in 7.
