I see the comparison of "AI" with Asbestos
And I think it is totally correct. I fear that we will suffer decades of damages caused by "AI" (or more specifically, LLMs) being integrated int "everything"

Sadly, I see another apt comparison
It asbestos combined with Radium fad. The marketing at the beginning of the 20th century that radium-infused products were beneficial to health or whatever.

I'm not aware that asbestos was ever marketed in a similar aggressive manner.

@realn2s
That the large language model is being marketed as though it were artificial general intelligence, is the hot air that is inflating the AI bubble, in my estimation.

Misunderstanding the Chatbot, seen as a Commutation Operator

There appears to be a general misunderstanding that the large language model is a form of artificial general intelligence.

@realn2s

Asbestos was certainly marketed as if it were healthy and safe. Manufacturers put it in toasters, refrigerators, water heaters, wallboard, automotive breaks, home furnace heat shields, ad nauseum.

@realn2s Oh, asbestos was also marketed similarly. The difference is, that asbestos actually worked for the advertised purpose. It *is* super fire proof. Radium was just toxic.
