#fediverse n00b question: why does the tags/ page on the #forkiverse have less posts than on the mastadon.social instance? Ex:

https://theforkiverse.com/tags/thicktrunkthursday
vs
https://mastodon.social/tags/thicktrunkthursday

Both say "2 posts · 2 participants · 1 post today" but on Forkiverse I only see two posts while on the mastadon.social page I see a bunch of thiccc trunk picccs

@petunia any questions here @FediTips is great at answering. Short answer is that #forkiverse needs time to fetch info from all the other servers, and you need to have links to them via messages boosts etc. So it might take a while. More interaction will help!

@Tattooed_Mummy @petunia

I wouldn't pay too much attention to what the numbers say on tags, they are not always reliable, and the Fediverse isn't about numbers anyway.

The main thing is just to discover, follow and interact with people. I've tried to list all the ways to do that at https://fedi.tips/how-do-i-find-accounts-to-follow-on-mastodon-and-the-fediverse-how-do-i-find-my-friends/

How do I discover accounts to follow on Mastodon and the Fediverse?
