Minolta Dimâge EX (1.5MP, 1998)

A nixie tube clock in an orange glow showing 06:44 (I took this 5 minutes before posting the image). The photo is quite grainy and lo-fi, but with amazingly bright and clear colors, as is often the case with CCD sensors.

@thomasfuchs Aw, I love Nixie tubes. There's something so comforting about them, with the underlying worry that the vault supervisor is about to remove all the oxygen.

@thomasfuchs@hachyderm.io ooooo, I have an HP camera that says it’s 1MP. Mebbe I should try taking some shots with it. It has internal storage for about 8 photos but has a slot for a Compact Flash card, which ain’t so compact. And I doubt it would accept the 64GB cards I’ve got for my Elektron Octatrack. #Oldcameras #retrophotography #shittycamerachallenge

@jaypeach53 I'm using a 128 MB CF card in this camera btw... 😊 that's MB, not GB

(fwiw you should be able to find lower capacity CF cards on e.g. eBay, if you have more cameras it's good to look for "lot of memory cards", it can be much cheaper that way.)

@thomasfuchs@hachyderm.io only thing is I’m not sure what the camera accepts. Couldn’t find the manual online and it’s a purchase from Goodwill, a second-hand store. #Oldcameras #retrophotography #shittycamerachallenge

@jaypeach53 CF cards are often surprisingly flexible. I have cameras from the 90's which are perfectly fine with 2GB, probably would take 4GB as well (FAT16 file system which these cameras use has a 4GB limit in most implementations)

@jaypeach53 that said, there can be incompatibilities, even of cards with same specs from different manufacturers. that's why buying a lot (as in one listing with many different cards) makes it more likely to get cards that work.

if you're using ebay, you can put in a saved search for "cf memory card lot" and look for _auctions_ (not "buy now")
