I’m incredibly happy with how #Vernissage looks and works right now. It’s fully focused on photography, offering features hard to find in other Fediverse apps: EXIF metadata, geolocation, HDR support, and curated, moderated timelines filled with amazing photos from the community - from you. I’ve spent hundreds (if not thousands) of after-hours developing it. For you. For the Fediverse.

@vernissage hello, I am just wondering if vernisage is suitable for any other kind of visual art (like digital art) and if there is a mobile app
@Crates Vernissage can absolutely host other visual art too (it’s image-file based, so digital art works fine). It’s just designed primarily with photography in mind, and its standout features are built around that. There’s no mobile app yet. An API already exists, so an app can be built - no one has taken it on so far, but it’ll likely happen sooner or later.
I've been on Vernissage now for almost three days and, already, I am seeing more AI generated images and images that have not much to do with photography.
Also, I miss some - obviously nice - features, like muting/blocking, not displaying image details below the image.
Thoughts please?
@BlameDutchie @Crates Can I ask which timeline you’re mostly seeing AI on? If it’s the global one, that’s because it aggregates posts from other servers, including accounts people follow or reblog, which is unfortunately hard to avoid. Building a personal timeline that fits your taste is key. If you spot pure spam accounts, please report them. Muting is already available via the three-dot menu on a user profile (it’s quite detailed). Feature ideas are always welcome on the project’s GitHub 🙂
Indeed the global one.
Muting an account requires clicking through to that account's profile which is not very user-friendly and it does not remove existing posts from the global timeline (as it does on Mastodon instances).
I'll keep an eye out for improvements, though ;-)

Also, muting an account does not stop their NEW images from showing up on the global trending timeline...
That pretty much defeats the purpose of muting an account...
